A Concord native and brief nomad, Monica has recently rediscovered her passion for being active in the East Bay arts community. A lover of Frida Kahlo and traditional animation, Meza combines symbolism with self, using line and portraiture. Often her work includes animal imagery and the application of a singular shape to enclose a visual story or statement.
Meza is a Studio Art graduate of California State University, Fresno, and currently advocates for arts programs in schools.
Her recent series, Fool for Lesser Things, engages music and lyrics in enhancing the understanding of heartbreak and introspection in love.
